Sanur Village Festival 2017 to feature 27 activities

From Aug. 9 to 13, Maisonette Area Inna Grand Bali Beach in Sanur, Bali, is hosting Sanur Village Festival (SVF) 2017.
Themed “The New Spirit of Heritage”, the festival will feature 27 activities, such as beach clean-up, coral plantation, sea turtles hatchling release and an exhibition.

It will also have Sanur creative expo, cultural, music and art performances, horticulture, culinary and food festival, food heritage, painting activities, photography competition, sport activities, kite festival, games, golf tournament, jukung (rowboat) race, fishing competition, kid’s zone and village cycling tour.

“The festival kicked off on Aug. 3 with a three-day Sanur International Kite Festival that is joined by 23 countries,” said Sanur Village Festival committee head Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta.
Visitors can also visit a photo exhibition themed “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (Unity in Diversity) at Griya Santrian Resort and Villa until Aug. 19 that features 34 photos by Balinese photographers.
SVF 2017 will be closed with Bali International Triathlon 2017 slated on Oct. 15 at Mertasari Beach, Sanur, which will feature three sport branches: running, swimming and cycling.

Sanur is one of the 10 most popular destinations in Asia according to TripAdvisor. The waters in Sanur are calmer than in Kuta and it boasts beautiful white sand beaches, such as Segara Ayu, Sindhu and Mertasari.

Located 17 kilometers from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Sanur also offers the best place for sunrise viewing. (JakartaPost)
