The Ministry of Tourism plans to expand its Wonderful Indonesia brand by signing co-branding agreements with 16 leading domestic companies.
"Wonderful Indonesia is currently placed 47th among global brands. The branding value has beaten Amazing Thailand and Malaysia Truly Asia," Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said in a statement on Wednesday (02/08).

The move follows previous co-branding successes with several food products such as Garuda Food, Papatonk shrimp chips and Bon Gout.
Arief said the co-branding schemes would be discussed during the Wonderful Indonesia Co-Branding Forum on Thursday next week.
Esthy Reko Astuti, deputy for tourism development at the Tourism Ministry, said the collaboration will increase the brand equity of Wonderful Indonesia, while improving Indonesia's tourism sector.

"Co-branding with various products is effective, as they are also capable of breaching international markets," Esthy said in a discussion on Tuesday.

The 16 leading brands include Achilles, Garuda Food, Polygon, the Sahid Group, Tiket.com, Alleira Batik & Gaia, Sunpride, Sarinah, Sababay Wine, Martha Tilaar, Malang Strudle and Batik Trusmi. (JakartaGlobe)
